Obituary of Nancy Jo Pechtel

Nancy Jo Pechtel, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Monday morning, October 2, 2023 at Nottingham place in Midland. She was born January 17, 1937 in Saginaw, daughter of the late Milan and Delores (Plavsic) Wagner. Nancy grew up in Saginaw and graduated from Arthur Hill High School. On May 17, 1958 she married Robert Pechtel at St. Helen Catholic Church. The two were married for 59 years until Bob’s passing in 2017. Nancy liked keeping her hands busy and for many years made ceramics, knit, and crocheted. More than anything, she enjoyed her family. Being the best wife, mother, grandmother, and beyond meant the world to her and she cherished every minute of it.

Nancy is survived by her three children, Melanie (Jack) Pechtel-Arnault, Melinda (David) Maldonando, and Michael (Carol) Pechtel; grandchildren, Jacob (Angela) Pechtel, Allie Maldonado, and Noah Maldonado, Jonathon (Ashlee) Pechtel, and Sarah (Mark) Pechtel-Spencer; great grandchildren, Maverik, Kolt, and Greysin; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Services for Nancy will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State Street). Chaplain Don Killey will officiate.

VISITATION: Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Association Michigan Chapter.
