Gonzales, Armando “Mando”

Saginaw Twp., Michigan

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor and dear friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital, at the age of 75. Armando Perez Gonzales was born on June 13, 1948 in La Pryor, Texas to the late Jose and Sobeida (Perez) Gonzales. Mando met the love of his life, Carolina Oralia Mosqueda, and they were married on October 31, 1966. Together they would have celebrated 57 years together making wonderful memories and cherishing their family this October.

From humble beginnings, Mando came to Michigan with his family in 1972 to work for General Motors, retiring in 2006. Mando was a devoted father and grandfather. In his free time you could find him with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling and road trips, word search puzzles, sitting outside, and taking care of his lawn. You could always find Mando working on a new project within his own home or helping his kids upgrade theirs. His work ethic was unmatched and he valued hard work, loyalty, and always placed his family first.

Armando is survived by his wife, Carolina “Carol” Gonzales; Armando (Marta Garcia) Gonzales Jr., Maribel (Juan) Bush and Pito Javier (Denise) Gonzales; grandchildren: Sadina (Raymond Guerrero) Gonzales, Rickey (Emily) Garza, Destani (Luke Johnson) Gonzales, Ambria (Jordan) Hill, Larissa (Christian) Guzman, Trent (Anjel Atkins) Bush, Aniyah Gonzales, Aleah Gonzales and Andrew Gonzales; great grandchildren: Isaiah Hill, Jhorie Johnson, Averie Ulrey, Kenyon Hill, Rowen Johnson and Araceli Hill; brother and sister: George (Benita) Gonzales and Magdalena Martinez; many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Mando was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Jose Elias, Arnulfo, Manuela, Corina, and Alma Rosa.
