Ancrum, Margaret A. 

Loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on August 17, 2022 at Toni and Trish House in Auburn, Michigan at the age of 82. Margaret (better known as “Midge” to family) was born March 23, 1940 in Saginaw, MI the daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Ferrelli) Tetloff. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1958 and enlisted in July of that year in the United States Army (WAC). Margaret eventually retired after 27 years of combined active Army and Army Reserve service. 

Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved animals of all kinds, but most specifically enjoyed the loyal companionship of several cherished dogs throughout her life and was dedicated to caring for them throughout theirs.

Surviving to cherish her memory are two daughters and one son: Teresa (Jeff) Lydston, Patrica Smith and James Ancrum, five grandchildren: LTC Clay (Nicole) Mathews, Kristin (Cameron) Collins, Lauren Mathews, Michelle (Ishmael) Skylark and Emmanuel Waldrup, 12 great-grandchildren: a sister: Mary (Sam) Licavoli and many cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends: Judy Penkala and Peggy Dreffs. Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by two brothers: Alfred and Michael Tetloff, two granddaughters: Jennifer “Jenne” Smith and Breanna Smith and a son in-law: Greg Smith.

FUNERAL: A Funeral Service for Margaret will take place Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 7:00 PM from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Saginaw, Michigan 48603. Fr. Richard John and Pastoral Associate Tori Little will officiate the service. Full Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the American Legion Post #439 and the United States Army. Cremation to follow and inurnment to take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 PM until the time of service.

MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw County Animal Control (1312 Gratiot Ave. Saginaw, MI  48602) or charity of your choice.
