Obituary of Wallace C. DeFore

DeFore, Wallace C. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011, at Magnum Care of Saginaw. He was 86 years old. Wallace C. DeFore was born on June 30, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late August and Ella (Slik) DeFore. He married Minnie Ruth Carroll on August 25, 1951 in Bay City; she preceded him in death on December 24, 2008. Wallace was employed by Baker Perkins, retiring in 1980 after 36 years of service. He was a loving husband and father and had tremendous faith in the Lord. Wallace and his wife will be forever known as "The Walkers" throughout their neighborhood because they truly enjoyed walking together. Surviving is a daughter, Diana DeFore. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL: Wallace's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Kenneth R. Parker will officiate. Burial will follow in Owen Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
