Obituary of Clarence H. Henning

Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's of Michigan on Thursday, February 26, 2015. He was 86 years old. Clarence Herman Henning, Jr. was born on May 9, 1928 to the late Clarence H. and Nicolette M. (Budge) Henning. He married Jean M. (Peart) Beets on June 24, 1966 in Saginaw. She survives him. Chuck was a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales and a life member of Knights of Columbus Council #4232, third degree. Chuck proudly served with the U.S. Air Force, as an Airman First Class, Senior Instrumentalist, during the Korean War playing saxophone in the U.S. Air Force Band. Chuck worked as a claims adjuster for AAA Insurance for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. In his retirement years he worked for Larry's Auto Supply for an additional 20 years. He held a 50 year membership with the American Legion Post #22, Moose Lodge #82 and the Exhausted Roosters. Chuck's true enjoyment came from music. He had his own 17 piece band, "Chuck Henning and the Big Band Sound."
Chuck is survived by his wife, Jean; step-children: Terri L. (David) Zimmerman, Robert E. (Janice) Beets and Douglas W. Beets; grandchildren: Sarah J. Humerickhouse, Broc E. Beets and Zachary M. Beets; great grandchildren: Gage Fitzgerald, Brandon Colon, Kaylee Beets and Henry R. Humerickhouse; sister-in-law, Carolyn Henning. Chuck was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Anne Kovach; and brother, Charles J.W. Henning.
Chuck's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Mulpuri and her staff for the wonderful care that has been provided over the years.
FUNERAL: Chuck's funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Frances de Sales (St. Christopher site), 3945 Williamson Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS will officiate. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). A vigil service will be held on Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. Chuck will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
