Obituary of Robert L. Collins

Passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the age of 69. Robert was born on November 3, 1955 in Saginaw, the son of Carol (Harris) and Lyle Collins. Bob graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1973. He was united in marriage to Victoria Granville on May 1, 1976 in Saginaw. They celebrated 43 years of marriage until her passing on June 11, 2019. Bob worked for the City of Saginaw, Water Department for over 25 years. He loved bowling, riding his motorcycle, watching NASCAR, cheering for the Detroit Lions, Michigan Football, and the Detroit Red Wings, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his children: Jamie Gildenstern and Christopher (Amanda) Collins; nine grandchildren: Jessica, Amanda, William, Nathan, Rebecca, Jack, Kayla, Peyton and Carter; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Connie (Garth) Jackson; several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603 on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, October 3, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

A memorial service for Bob will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 from Deisler Funeral Home, Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate. Cremation has taken place.
